Everyone has one of those garments that is simply irreplaceable. A unique item that one can never find again when a replacement is needed. Well harts employee Genevieve decided to take matters into her own crafty hands and made a replica of one of her favorite tops that she couldn’t find a duplicate of in stores anymore. The result: This totally cute and sporty tank, the perfect top for summer beach weather!
Genevieve simply traced the top that she already had, including seam allowance and replicated it in this red terry-backed knit fabric. She even included a cute front pocket detail and the stylish criss-cross straps out of a soft jute twill tape. Tops like this are perfect for the breezy summer beaches here in Santa Cruz.
Knit items such as tees and tanks are perfect for home pattern making since they don’t typically include darts or zippers and lay flat when worn. You can trace the shape of the garment including seam allowance (1/2″ – 5/8″) on muslin, tracing paper, or lightweight stabilizer for a long-lasting pattern for your favorite top!
