We are all totally stoked on these new quilted cottons from Riley Blake! They are brand new, and already super popular! These fabrics feature some of Riley Blake’s most popular designs: chevrons, skulls, mustaches, and glasses! Each fabric is backed with a complementary polka-dot, and quilted using a soft poly batting!
The most awesome thing about these fabrics is how quickly you can whip up a cute handmade project! All you need is some bias tape for binding and you’ll have an adorable quilt! It pretty much makes itself, talk about instant gratification :)
For my quick and easy baby blanket I chose the cream glasses and dots, plus Chinese red kona solid for binding! I used Katrina’s bias tape tutorial to make my binding, but you could also just buy some pre-made bias tape by the yard!
Once my bias tape was made, I used my trusty Janome DC2013 machine to attach the binding! Super easy and super fast, this blanket probably took about 15 minutes to sew up once I had my bias tape made! I think it took me longer to choose my fabrics than it did to actually make!
Instant handmade baby blanket! Talk about a perfect gift for baby showers! We are completely in love with these fabrics and we hope you enjoy them too! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
