Katrina made this lovely “Jasmine Blouse” by Colette patterns. She said it was super easy and perfect for a beginner. The blouse is cut on the bias for a great fit with no zipper or button closure. How awesome is that?! I asked Katrina if it was tricky cutting the slippery fabric on the bias and she told me about a great tip on how to keep the fabric from sliding all around. All you have to do is lay down an old cotton sheet, then lay the slippery fabric on top with the pattern on top. Next just cut the slippery fabric by hand and it won’t slide around on you while it’s laying on top of the cotton sheet. I love little tricks like this, they definitely make a big difference. The fabric she chose is a retro inspired polka dot chiffon.
