If you have been reading this blog, you will know I love pineapples! This quilting cotton was so cute, I wanted the tank to be something I could layer and wear past summer.
The 100 Acts of Sewing Dress no. 1 was a great base. I have made the dress before and it is really straight forward. The insides are finished with french seams and the neckline is bias bound making for a really clean finish. Since the dress is a little more a-line than I wanted my tank, I did narrow the body to make it more slim fitting. I also added a dip hem to make the bottom a little more interesting. This pattern is really great for all body types and there are a million ways you can customize it!
I love this pattern from Cashmerette! It has options for cup sizing, which eliminates the need for bust adjustment, how cool is that!? These patterns are really graded for full figure ladies, which is refreshing. I love making this top because I know it will fit perfect every time. I used a cotton print from Dear Stella's collection "Journey On", and blocked in the back with a coordinating blender from the collection. I really have no complaints about the pattern, and I love the pint of the fabric however... I think it drapes nicer in a rayon. I've made this top before, and I will defiantly make it again. This is the best pattern for busty ladies who hate having to do bust adjustments!
This is the second Datura that I've made, and I love this pattern! The fit is perfect, no adjustments needed!
I love the way that Deer and Doe has you finish the bodice, it is so clean and neat on the inside! Plus the button placket down the back is completely adorable! I couldn't help going with little pink hearts to match the hot pink flamingos!
This ended up being such a perfect summer tank, the mint green and pink combo is pretty much my favorite 👌💞🌞
